Posture also helps optimize the effort required to operate the wheelchair while using less energy. Having a bad posture can cause injury if a good posture is not used to propel the wheelchair the correct way. The Wheelchair Seat 


The seat of the wheelchair is probably the most important feature because it is in permanent contact with the user. It is essential for achieving the stability that is necessary and optimal propulsion and function. It is important for the weight sitting on the seat to be distributed evenly. The seat should not be too wide, too narrow, too short, or too long. A seat that is too wide can cause the user to adopt non-symmetrical postures.
